Free MT4 statement import for your trading journal (2026, no CSV mapping)
Every retail broker on MT4 or MT5 (XM, Vantage, Exness, IC Markets, Pepperstone, FBS…) exports the same HTML statement — and 99% of trading journals still make you paste it row by row. Here's how to skip the pain.
MetaTrader still runs the world's forex volume in 2026. CFD prop firms all sit on it — FTMO, FundedNext, FTUK, The5%ers, MFF, Instant Funding, City Traders Imperium. If your journal can't ingest their HTML statement in one drop, it will lose to any journal that can.
Why "free MT4 import" is rarer than you'd think
MT terminals give retail traders no public REST API. The only supported export path is Terminal → History → right-click → *Save as Detailed Report*. Every journal that ingests this HTML has to write its own parser. Most gave up and asked users to convert to CSV first — a 5-minute chore that adds up.
How Tradelog does it (free, unlimited)
1. In MT4 or MT5, click Terminal → Account History.
2. Set Period → All history (or the exact prop challenge window).
3. Right-click the pane → Save as Detailed Report (HTML). Or Save as Report (CSV) — Tradelog reads both.
4. Log into Tradelog → Settings → Brokers → Upload MT statement.
5. Pick your broker (XM, Vantage, IC Markets, Pepperstone, Exness, FBS, HF Markets, OctaFX, or *Other*).
6. Drop the file. Done.
Tradelog auto-detects: ticket number, open time, close time, symbol, direction (buy/sell → long/short), volume, entry price, SL, TP, close price, commission, taxes, swap, profit. Every closed ticket becomes a Tradelog trade with the broker chip pre-filled.
Idempotency: upload the same file twice, get zero duplicates
Every MT trade upserts on `(user_id, broker, "
Cost: free forever on the Monthly plan
Every Tradelog plan — including the ₹600 / mo Monthly — includes unlimited MT4/MT5 statement imports. No per-import fee, no upload cap, no watermark.
Which retail brokers is this tested with?
XM, Vantage, IC Markets, Pepperstone, Exness, FBS, HF Markets, OctaFX, RoboForex, FXPro, FXOpen, Tickmill, Admiral Markets. Prop firm accounts on Match-Trader export the same MT5-style HTML — those work too.
